Elizabeth and Alex’s Engagement Photos

Alex and Elizabeth are adventurers. They love to be outdoors. They rock climb and hike. Alex hang glides and has been since he was 13 years old.  But besides that, they came together because they both love to be with and help people. As they both work in the medical field, they get to live that passion out every day.

As I hung out with them for a few hours, I could not help but love getting to know them.  They SO generous and caring. Wanting only to make sure I was enjoying MYSELF while photographing them. It was pretty funny how many times Elizabeth apologized for everything. But Alex just explained that was her personality and it was her way of wanting everyone around her feel loved and accepted when they were in her presence.

So I was excited when they came up with the idea to photograph them in the area where they love to be.  Right below Lookout Mountain where the hang gliding school is.  We spent a lot of time jumping fences and trespassing on everyones property but since they knew everyone on the road, it was cool.

They’re getting married in Hawaii in a few months and unfortunately they can’t take me with them. I’m super jealous and am praying that something changes between now than then! I’d so be on that plane!

Why Elizabeth loves Alex:

“Alex completes me. When I’m sad, he makes me laugh. When I need a shoulder to cry on, he holds me. I can completely be myself with him, good and bad, he loves both. I trust him. I know that in 50 years he will still hold my hand and look at me like I’m the only woman in the world. We can adventure together or have a lazy day… Either way, as long as we are together I am more than content… I’m at peace and happy. He pulls me out of my box and shows me a different way to look at life. I am high stress and he mellows me out. He’s laid back and takes things with stride. He helps me build my faith and relationship with Christ. He is the spiritual leader that I need and that God wants for me. I could write a book but to sum it up, without him, a piece of me would be missing.”

We even got to go rope swinging over a little river! And yes, I went, too!  Alex took my camera and didn’t know how to focus but tried his best nonetheless and I love the resulting blue blur!  This was definitely a first for me on an engagement session and I had a blast!

Why Alex loves Elizabeth:

“I would brag about Elizabeth all day long. She just has a personality that lights up a room and if she is outside she lights up the heavens. She’s smart, clever, giddy, a real world Angel. You just have to meet her and you will see her true beauty. She is so much more than skin deep beauty. Her heart is so big. She would give away everything she owns just for someone to be happy for 5 minutes. I am attracted to Elizabeth inside and out. I love her and would do anything for her!”

I was SO mad at myself when I left because we didn’t get a self-portrait at the end of the session.  We were having such a fun time talking and connecting that I totally forgot.  But that’s okay. I have so many cool memories with my two hours with them and I hope we get to do it again sometime soon!
